Writing a comprehensive training guide and running training sessions for a new digital product in the early 2000s introduced me to instructional design, later enhanced by my UX training. Formally training designers and strategists via seminars, one-on-one sessions or full training programs added to my ability to design training programs that are inherently relevant to their actual work. Creating learning infrastructures for my agency employers also allowed me to develop insight into how to implement a culture of learning. In 2020 I designed the Future of Doing course for the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, which I have since converted into a training startup, the Future of Doing.
In January 2022, I achieved my MicroMasters in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Maryland, which I combine with my experience in training high performing teams, a background in course design and my advanced digital design skills to develop learning experiences. My background in innovation has also resulted in many future-focussed ideas about LX.
I focus on 3 key activities as an LX practitioner.
Developing a strategy, the course itself and an evaluation plan to test the effectiveness of the course.
One-on-one or limited group mentoring and training for strategists and designers.
Working with stakeholders to understand whether the business model can facilitate a learning culture for ongoing upskilling.
