My work often distances me from the tactile and personal. Thirty Views is a return to observation, locality, and making by hand.
Line drawings serve as the foundation of these pieces, with watercolour washes and ink applied selectively. Each scene is cut into three to four planes and mounted on foam board at different depths, creating genuine physical dimensionality inside the box frame.
Three months and thirty scenographic illustrations, Thirty Views is a series of small illustrated dioramas celebrating the everyday experience of neighbourhood.
I am 8 pieces and 3 weeks away from completing this series. Take a tour through the neighbourhood so far, or follow my updates on instagram.
