I’m an illustrator working across ink, watercolour, scenographic illustration and animation. My work ranges from book illustration and portrait sketches to layered scenographic artworks inspired by my early studies in set design.
I’m currently open to illustration commissions for books, cafés, businesses and private clients.
My scenographic illustrations are created from watercolour and ink drawings divided into layered card compositions and encased in perspex or wooden box frames. They draw on my early studies in set design.
I draw in ink and convert the drawings into vectors, or create simplified shape-based vector illustrations.
I draw pencil portraits from photographs, usually at approximately A4 scale.
I like to experiment with cel animation, drawing every frame from scratch. This naturally limits the timeframe, but I enjoy seeing the drawings come to life with very little manipulation.
I work in a combination of watercolour, markers and finalisers to create colourful illustrations.
I create large-scale hand-sewn appliqué canvases, occasionally stitching directly onto painted surfaces.
This work began as an exploration of craft as art, examining how traditionally female mediums have often been overlooked and how their meaning shifts when presented as gallery work. I have exhibited select pieces at the Brick Lane Gallery in London.
Although I studied painting at university, I rarely paint. When I do, the works tend to be either miniature canvases or very large abstract oil paintings.
